Work Experience

Data Scientist

Jan 2019 — Present

U.Group

I collaborate with software developers to build custom data solutions using supervised and unsupervised machine learning. I use Python, Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, and Keras to build models based on trends, anomalies, and patterns in structured as well as unstructured data, with a focus on model deployment via Dockerized micro-services that are hosted on Amazon Web Services.

Data Scientist

Jan 2018 — Dec 2018

Association of American Medical Colleges

I worked closely with researchers and product teams to develop new data products. These products included an online standardized video interview, where I built operational infrastructure using Python and trained machine learning models to score interviews, and a web-based tool that made recommendations to users about residency programs that were best-fit to their personal and academic characteristics.

Data Scientist

Sep 2017 — Dec 2017

HelioCampus

I collaborated with the marketing department at the University of Maryland, University College to build lead prediction models, analyze application and enrollment trends, and model the relationship between marketing spend and return on investment. I also design data schemas and created data visualizations and dashboards for clients.

Sr Data Analyst

Jan 2018 — Dec 2018

Association of American Medical Colleges

I supported research and development efforts to create new data-driven products and tools to help students, advisors, residency directors, and other constituents in the graduate medical education admissions and selection space to make smarter, more targeted decisions.

Sr Measurement Analyst

Feb 2011 — Sep 2016

Association of American Medical Colleges

I supported research on the MCAT exam by managing research, data analysis, and reporting. I led the development of multiple published statistical and technical reports, presentations, and research briefs, as well as communicated findings to leadership, constituents, stakeholders.

Data Analyst

Jun 2010 — Jan 2011

Analyst Institute

I designed, implemented, and evaluated behavioral change research to understand and increase voter registration, turnout, and mobilization in collaboration with like-minded non-profit and political organizations.

Research Manager

Jun 2009 — Jun 2010

NCSU Adult Development Laboratory

I led efforts to recruit students and community volunteers to participate in laboratory research studies. Additionally, I was also responsible for data collection, data analysis, and managing undergraduate and graduate student research efforts.

Education

Master Degree

Aug 2007 — May 2009

Wake Forest University

I graduated magna cum laude with a Master of Arts degree in quantitative psychology. My research focused on decision heuristics and decision-making under uncertainity.

Bachelor Degree

Aug 2003 — May 2007

Appalachian State University

I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in social and cognitive psychology, with minors in statistics and sociology.
